The Story Behind
This adorable creature is hardly playing possum as she snuggles a beautiful blossom. Opossums are well-known for their involuntary behavior of mimicking the look and smell of a dead animal when they feel threatened. Opossums are also unique for using their tail as a fifth limb as they climb, hang and balance.
Crafted in age-old tradition using 1800’s techniques
- Each glass ornament is mouth-blown into finely carved molds
- A solution of hot liquid silver is added for exceptional color and vibrance
- Ornaments are then hand-painted and hand-glittered for a fine finish
